Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. Santa stopped by with his sleigh on Christmas Eve and the kids had so much fun! We stayed home this year and enjoyed a nice, relaxing day together.
We got a late start on the cookies and there wasn't much time to frost them so we left them bare.Santa didn't seem to mind though! After Jon, Kat, Sevy, Teik and Kris and Ashley came into town, we went to my mom's house for Christmas, part 2. The kids always love being with their cousins. We had a very Merry Christmas and can't wait until there is another munchkin to celebrate with next Christmas!

Drew's Birthday

So, I'm a little behind here. Drew's birthday was last Friday and he is 6 years old now! I can't believe how fast the time is going. Sometimes I wish I could freeze time and just enjoy these moments longer. But as Drew tells me, that's impossible because he has to get bigger so he can turn 7. Here are some pictures of his celebrations.

We love Drew so much and are so blessed to have him in our family. His joy is contagious and he makes us happy everyday. Happy Birthday, Drew! We love you!

Pictures

I finally downloaded my pictures from the past month so here is what we have been up to:

Making goodie bags for Drew's Halloween party at school.

Trick or Treating (This is the best picture I got of the two of them. Clearly I need to work on my photojournalism skills. In case you can't tell, it's Harry Potter and Snow White.)
The Whole Gang Sugar OverloadDrew's Jog-A-Thon Fundraiser for School.
Avery's First Haircut (Just a Trim! I figured after 3 years, it was time.) Cousin's Visit (Once again, Sevy and Teik were here for 5 days and I took maybe three pictures. I hope my children have excellent long term memories. They had so much fun with each other!)

That pretty much sums up the last month for us. Oh. Well, there is one more thing......

Life is Good.

Big Girl

Notice anything different about that tiny, precocious little bum bum? She's wearing panties!!! We have been trying to potty train Avery for awhile now and it was finally time to buckle down. She is doing really well and even woke up completely dry yesterday. She loves to receive the praise for being a big girl and has earned 2 pairs of princess shoes for her efforts. Hopefully this is an ongoing trend!

Poetry Theater

This is one of the joys of having a kid in school. They put on these ridiculously cute shows for you to come and watch and just marvel at how sweet it is to watch 5 year olds try to sing and dance in unison while scratching or picking various parts of their body. Drew did a little solo called "The Rules of Classroom" but I can't get the video to load right now. Trust me, it was cute. There is another performance at the end of the month and I look forward to seeing what they come up with.

Catching up

We went out of town for the Labor Day weekend about a month ago and when we got home, our computer had crashed. It was bad enough that we just had to get a new one so I'm just now getting around to putting my pictures on the new computer and playing blog catch up.

Labor Day

For the Labor Day weekend, we decided to take the kids over to Albuquerque for a few days. We found a hotel that has a little indoor waterpark attached so we figured it would be fun since all our activities were on site. The kids had a great time and I enjoyed not having to be out in the sun! There was also an arcade on site that Drew enjoyed going to with Brent and we also went to the zoo. I loved not having to cook or clean for a few days and the kids always love staying in a hotel and going swimming. It was a nice getaway and I'm glad we got to have a little mini family vacation becuase usually Brent isn't able to go places with us.
