I'm Baaa-aaack!

I know I haven't posted in awhile. It's because Blogger hates me and enjoys torturing me with formatting issues and slow downloads. It takes forever to do a post with pictures and who wants to read a post with no pictures? Not me. But today is a rainy day and my house is clean so I actually took the time to get my pictures on the computer and update my blog! I neglected my children and drank lots of Diet Coke but I have 10 new posts to show for it. So here ya go--5 months worth of our activities. Enjoy!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Brent surprised me with the purse I have been wanting for a couple of months now and I always love the handmade goodies the kids make for me. I love being a mom and I especially love the three little darlings that gave me that title.

Donuts!

Who doesn't love a good field trip? Avery's class went to the donut shop and got to see how they make donuts and then decorate and eat their own. Afterwards, they played at the park and were supposed to have a picnic. The park was too wet and muddy so we went back to the school gym and had our picnic there. Avery's classmates loved having Finley there and followed her everywhere.

Finley

Finley is 11 months old and I can't believe how fast the time is going! Every day she is at risk of me just gobbling her up because I can't get enough. I love her to pieces!

Scouts

Drew has been in Cub Scouts for a few months now and has really enjoyed all the fun activities they get to do. We had Pinewood Derby a couple of months ago and our Blue and Gold Banquet recently. Drew has earned several merit badges and is now a Wolf scout.

Camping

One of the things Drew has been looking forward to most about scouts is going camping. In a tent. In the woods. No bathrooms. Wild animals. He had his first opportunity to go a couple of weeks ago with his troop and since Brent had to work, I got to take him and bring Avery. That's right people, I went camping and even set up my own tent. Luckily flushing toilets were only a 10 minute hike away and the wildest animal we encountered was a raccoon. We actually had lots of fun and may do it again!

Easter

Drew was so excited for Easter this year. He couldn't sleep because he was too excited to find his basket and see what the Easter Bunny brought him. As a result, he walked in on the "Easter Bunny" twice while said Bunny was hiding eggs and putting baskets together. The baskets didn't get hidden because he walked in about a nanosecond after they had been put together so they had to stay put. Luckily he didn't connect the dots and he believed me when I told him that despite being in the same room as the baskets, I didn't hear or see the Easter Bunny deliver them. (whew!)

Cousins!

With all my siblings living in different places, it's rare that we all get together at the same time. It just happened to work out this Christmas that we were all able to get together. It's always fun for the cousins to get together and play and my kids always go through withdrawals when the cousins leave.

Nutcracker

My mom took Avery and I to the Nutcracker. It was such a nice evening, I love going to the Nutcracker. Avery enjoyed it and I look forward to going with both my girls in the years to come.

Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas. Santa made an appearance again and the kids were thrilled. Finley didn't quite know what to think but she liked all the excitement anyway.
