Girls Camp

I was called as the new young women's president in our branch about two months ago. Ever since then, we have been planning girls camp. We camped in individual units this year so we got to plan everything ourselves. It was a lot of work and very stressful but in the end, it went so well! The girls had a great time. The leaders had a blast and I am so blessed to be able to serve such awesome girls. We rented a cabin in New Mexico (my kind of camping!) and enjoyed lots of fun activities. We drove over to White Sands to go sledding and have a picnic. It was 104 degrees and felt like we were sledding on the sun but the girls were good sports and enjoyed it anyway. Luckily the last day at the cabin was nice and cool so after our hike, we stayed inside and crafted the rest of the day--it was perfect. We made boards, necklaces and keychains. I loved seeing what everyone came up with. We took their cell phones while we were at camp so they couldn't text or anything and they were going crazy without them! When we gave them back on Saturday morning for the drive home, we didn't hear a peep out of them for a good two hours while they checked messages and updated their Facebook accounts! We had a great week and a lot of fun but I'm glad the stake gets to plan it next year!
